The Totty Wedding: Virginia Beach, VA

Summer and Josh were the very first couple to book me after our big move to Virginia last year! They have been nothing but nice ever since then. From their beach engagement session to their Asian inspired beach wedding, these two definitely have a special place in my heart! Despite the gloomy weather and rain delay they were DETERMINED to have that outdoor beach wedding!! We waited just as the rain stopped and then the peaked through during their ceremony, which I believe was a sign from God. It may have been a tad chilly but it was perfect. As a photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a better cloudy day…especially for a beach wedding! 🙂 I would show their reception as well, but this would be a VERYYYYY long blog post if I did that. To sum it up, Summer and Josh had a lovely Chinese traditional tea ceremony and if you don’t know what that is (like myself), it is a significant way to show respect to the elders of the family. In the wedding, this act is in respect and gratitude to her parents for all the years of love and care. Tea is the symbol of purity, stability and fertile. The purity of tea represents the love is pure and noble; the stability of tea stands for faithful love; the fertile of tea represents the family will have many children. After the tea ceremony, the night was full of eating, dancing, photo-booth fun and some more dancing! It was definitely a joyous day! <3
